Breakfast at Home

So I finally was able to get this vision into fruition! I am a huge fan of classic movies but only recently saw Breakfast at Tiffany's, which I loved! To me it was such contrast to other classic movies I usually like, I know it was the 60's but the themes were so risque! And when I purchased these earrings from asos I immediately thought to stand out I needed a black & white palette, and so a 60's theme came to mind. I also got the make-up idea from a picture of Audrey Hepburn that I found and when my cat joined in the shoot I thought 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'! I've always enjoyed playing around with make-up and this was a lot of fun! Enjoy!

Inspiration Declaration

So you've probably noticed that my posts are a little sporadic. My next shoot is still in my head unfortunately. But this morning whilst I was catching up on bloglovin I realised that a lot of my favourite blogs put up inspiration boards/posts! And here I am talking about my inspiration to you but never showing you! So today I present to you my inspiration post. I hope you enjoy!

Autumn Leaves and Laughter

I have always known that I have been a city girl and the past few weeks have proved that to be an un-altering fact! Moving from big city to big city was such an adventure and I thought that moving to a large country town would be an adventure too! Well it's definitely been an adventure and a learning experience I will hold dear. But as I mentioned, the past few weeks have been a struggle, which is the reason for lack of posts, I am still looking for a job and therefore have felt a little trapped at home. Thankfully over the weekend my bff came down from Sydney and we had a fantastic Melbourne girls weekend! I'm feeling a lot more inspired and motivated. I love how the low point's in life make the high points feel that much higher!

This shoot was taken in the beautiful town of Beechworth (yes, same as last time. I just love how stuck in time it is). Autumn really is so beautiful in Beechworth and with the help of the sun setting the scene was really set with a beautiful warm glow. All pics of myself were taken by CJ, she has such an amazing natural talent!

Jeans: Lee (Thanks for the lend CJ)
Top & Shoes: Kmart

Necklace: Sportsgirl (Old)

I love this pic, it reminds me of when I was growing my pixie cut out!

I had to add CJ in to the blog as she is such a muse to me when it comes to sleek dressing. Her style is so simple and elegant which is usually a total contrast to my own!

Thanks for coming to stay CJ!!
I hope you all had a great weekend! And never forget to tell your bestie how much you appreciate them!

New Neon

Autumn has arrived and I have to say that I am a fan of the cooler weather, but what I'm not always a fan of is the dark colours that we tend to wear in the cooler months. I was so excited when I saw that the neon style from summer had extended into the cooler season. Sure a lot of neon/bright colours can be cool in tone, but just the brightness they provide makes me happier and takes my mind off the cold!
So when spending my ASOS voucher, given to me by my lovely sister in-law to-be, I couldn't resist purchasing this green neon beanie.

I really wanted to do this next shoot somewhere beautiful and interesting,
so on the weekend we went to the beautiful historic town of Beechworth.

Delicious apple cider made on site!

Beanie: ASOS

I couldn't resist putting a pic of the bf up! I don't approve of the
smoking but for arts sake I think it's a great effect.

Silver Lining

My life has been a little crazy the past few weeks, I've discovered a lot about myself, about people and what's important. I think in life most of us, myself included, spend too much time trying to make everyone around us happy and don't consider our own happiness, which is the most important thing. At the end of the day all we have are ourselves and if we don't spend time making ourselves happy no one will do it for us. For me fashion and creativity make me happy and so that is now what I am focusing on. And I hope that reading this makes you stop and think about what makes you happy. As Shakespeare wrote 'To thine own self be true'.

This is also what makes me happy ;)

And on that note I am so happy to bring you a new shoot that I did yesterday. I was racking my brains trying to think of a theme for my next post when I was inspired by my beautiful bff. As you know my birthday was last month and I received some fantastic gifts from friends and family. So in the next few weeks I will be creating shoots centred on these gifts, well the clothing and accessories  My sister in-law to be gave me a gift voucher for ASOS and I bought some amazing things that I am super excited to show you. And of course my bff CJ bought be a gorgeous necklace which is the focus of todays post.

Busy Bee

Recently I have gone back to university and had completely forgotten how much it takes over your life! This is why my second post is so overdue...so sorry!

Well, I had my birthday a couple of weeks ago and my beautiful bf took me out to dinner. This was very exciting for me as I hadn't been able to dress up in so long! Unfortunately I had a few problems with my camera and only one photo came out alright. Other than that I posted some of the evening on instagram, look out for keynap.

Skirt: Kmart

Ready - Set - GO!

Hello and Welcome!

I think the best way to open my blog is by introducing myself and telling you why I decided to start a blog. Hopefully I won't make it too long as I, like many of you out there, either don't have time or can't be bothered reading really long posts.

My name is Keyna (pronounced Kayna) and I am originally from Melbourne, Australia. I've lived in Sydney, Australia and also London, but am now currently residing in country Victoria a painful 3.5 hour drive from Melbourne.

My purpose for this blog is mainly to collaborate all of the things I love. It's in the name really, Eklecticist (I added the k for my name) means a person who gathers inspiration from a range of sources. For myself this means mainly style! You could say I love fashion, and I do, but as Yves Saint Laurent said "Fashions fade, style is eternal". So this blog is a gathering of my inspirations and sometimes a look at what I've done with that inspiration, because what is inspiration if we don't apply it!
